My girl friend has total Vision loss when standing up sometimes!

My girl friend sometimes experiances total vision loss when standing from a sitting position for a couple of mins. I'm total worried about her, she refuses too go see a doctor and I'm just worried if it could result in some serious medical problems in the future. She only has vision loss for about 4-5 seconds. She has had no other eye problems/surgery. Her mother used too beat her in the head with hard objects, could that have caused it? If anyone could please Email me some information I would greatly appreciat it.

I love her, couldn't stand it if anything happend to her!

sounds like possible "postural hypotension".  does she also feel dizzy or faint?  unlikely to be caused by previous head trauma, in my opinion.  i guess she could also have carotid artery stenosis, but my guess is postural hypotension.  have it checked out by your regular doctor first.

Yeah, she feels dizzy everyonce in a while. Mostly during heavy breathing. But she has never fainted too my knowledge. She still refuses too go see a doctor but thank you. Let me know if you happen too come across anything that could lead to permanint blindness or anything more serious please. Thank you!
