glasses for computers

are their certain kinds of glasses that are good for people who are behind a computer for many hours? I have symptoms that I think relate to Computer Vision Syndrom (syndrome) and was wondering if you knew of any. Thanks

There are special lenses made by Zeiss Optical called the Gradal RD which are made for computer use.  This is a progressive-style lens that provides computer working distance correction in the central vision, far distance correction above, and reading distance magnification below for transcribing documents.

In addition, anti-reflective coatings should reduce some of the glare which may be contributing the eye strain.

the most current thinking is:

1) computer "variable focus" lenses like the "gradal" mentioned by the other poster, or my personal favorite: the SOLA ACCESS.  these are a form of progressive, or "lineless multifocal" specifically designed for computer use.

2) AR coating

3) 10% grey tint
