CONCERN - Eye Care Issue

I have bad vision actually -8.5 left eye, and -8.75 in Right eye.  I went to sleep last night and woke up this morning and my right eye was really goopy with eye junk, and it was also very swollen and red.  I have extended wear Acuvue contacts that I do sleep in occasionally.  Last night I did sleep in them.  I took a shower this morning, and then took my contacts out to change into a new pair.  I put the new ones in and my right eyeball was too swollen so I took them out as to wear my glasses.  I put my glasses on and my glasses did nothing to correct my vision.  My contact was working but when I took it out and tried to put the new one in it didn't work, and my glasses were not correcting my vision.  I wanted to see if my eye was dialating, and it was not.  

I don't know what to do, this has never happened before.  I'm going to go to the local optomotrist today, but wanted to see if any eye professional has ever seen or treated this type of eye issue before?  I'm very concerned and nervous about it because it just instantly happened.  My children had pinkeye about 3 weeks ago, and I'm thinking this might be a form of that, but I've never heard of pinkeye that halted the dialation of the retina.  There is no pain associated with what is happening.  PLEASE HELP?
