Cataract

My dad had a cataract operation 5 days back and till date be was only able to see white light and no images at all. He went to the doctor today and found that there was some bleeding inside. He is a diabetes and heart patient, He had stopped talking asprin 5 days before the operation. But he started the intake of Asprin 3 days after the operation. The doctor said that the Asprin caused the bleeding. Is this true? The doctor also changed the medicine and said to come back after 5 days. Can this problem be cured? Will he be able to get back his eye sight back to normal.

Where was the bleeding?  If it was in the front of the eye the aspirin might have contributed.  However,  the literature and my personal experience does not support stopping aspirin for cataract surgery.  Stopping aspirin may result in the complication that aspirin is supposed to prevent such as stroke.  Most case of bleeding in the eye from aspirin resolves without a problem.

You dad's situation may be different.  Bleeding can occur from diabetic retinopathy.  If so he may need surgery to remove the blood.
