Corner Eyelid swelled up is this permanent?

Hello to all.  My problem basically has occured already and I am trying to get some insight on the situation without having to go to the doctors as I am unemployed at the moment.  Here is my situation:  My right eye was irritated to the point where I rubbed it, and after this had occured I received the same rash like swelling over the top of my eye lid.  The right eye was a lot worse then the left eye ever was, but the right eye seemed to have 'healed' as it felt initially like a burn.  The skin above my right eyelid was swollen, red/flaky skin, and when washed or any attempt at putting moisturizing cream / aloe on it would burn (the burn would cause me to rewash the eye again to just leave it like that)... well my right eyelid eventually started to heal and the skin started to 'grow' and basically the skin above my right eye lid that felt as if it were burnt (most likely from rubbing) had peeled off similar to dead dry skin or a scab peeling off.  This eye seemed to look almost like a snake skin type of rash when it had occured, but it seems to have healed without causing (but minor) skin imperfections (which are not noticable unless really close up..).  This has also happened to my left eye, and it did a similar healing process but my left eye is still a little swollen, and the 'corner' of my eyelid on the left side appears as if it has if the skin didn't quite heal the same as there is an obvious 'difference' in looking at my left eye and right eye.

I am going to upload the photo I took with my webcam just now, I hope it is clear enough for you all to see and offer suggestions.  I drew an arrow pointing to the corner of my left eye lid where you can obvoiusly see the puffing.  I just want to know if this is going to be like that for life or if I can somehow get rid of it?  Note:  My eyes always feel like there is something in them like hair in the corner of my eyes, just never seem to be relief from that feeling of having something in the corner of your eyes.

I do have nasty eye allergies, and sometimes this causes swelling but it is more of a 'hives' like swelling.  There does feel to be a difference between the right eye inner eyelid as far as the piece of (unsure if its cartlidge or not) but the thing you feel between your nose and corner of your eye:  The right eye feels as its normal size, where as the left obviously feels 'bigger' in size and it has been like this for atleast a month.  I just wonder if the skin healed over and never was able to peel off and that is why my left eyelid is swollen more then my right?  I am going to let you all take a look at the photo I upload and suggest from your experiences.  I use Opcon-A for my eye allergies when they 'itch' and this seems to take away both the itch and the redness involved.  Thanks for your input.

Mike
