My son has pain below left eye when blinking

Hi. I am not even sure if this is an "eye problem" per se, but since the pain is near the eye, I am posting it here. My son, who is 9 and in otherwise good health, complained to me this morning that, since yesterday afternoon or so (did not mention any precipitating event, so I assume that there was none), he has been feeling pain below his left eye (further out to the corner than where I think his sinus ends) whenever he blinks. I looked at his eye and at the lower conjunctiva, but everything there appears normal. In fact, his eye looks completely normal. There is no sign of swelling or discoloration of the skin below his eye, either. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions of possible causes, etc. He has good vision and no other eye problems. There are so many causes from needing glasses to other condition.  You should take him to a EyeMD.
