Red Eyes and Contact Lenses

Hi, I have been having red eyes for 3 weeks and stopped wearing my contacts for 2 weeks now.  I have seen two different optometrist and they both reassured me that it is not due to overuse of contact lenses.  They also ruled out any infection but did not give me an exact diagnosis.  They both said it could be due to some kind of irritation and prescribed me Alrex.  After a week of using Alrex, my eyes have not improved at all.  My eyes are still red and dry.  I am still worried that it is due to overuse of contact lenses.   Can you please give me any advice as that what is causing this redness.  I have never experienced this before with my contact lenses wear.

See an ophthalmologist Eye MD physician. Likely it is due to a combination of dry eyes plus stress of contacts. It can take 6-8 weeks for contact redness to clear.
