Almost always the condition you refer to is called cystoid macular edema. Treatment: time and do nohting-it usually goes away by itself. Most common Treatment: steroid eye drops and nonsteroidal antiinflammatory like xibron or acular.

Most drastic Treatment usually not needed after cataract surgery is intraocular injection of steroid.
