intermittant blindness

Seeing a neurologist regarding eye twitching (eyes rapidly moving from side to side) frequently throughout the day.  Noticed a couple posts from others with the same issue but my issue also results in frequent bouts of temporary total blindness in one eye for anywhere from several seconds to minutes.  Anyone have  a diagnosis that might give me an answer to why this is happening...so far (after many weeks and tests) my Dr hasn't come up with a cause or treatment.  I do use a computer many hours per day for my work but take frequent breaks...I also have issues with not being able to sleep for more than about 5-6 hours.  Any informationn would be helpful.

total blindness in one eye is called amaurosis fugax. It can be a sign of very serious diease of the eye, heart, brain, blood vessels.  As your neurologist to refer you to a neuro-ophthalmologist OR find one near you at www.aao.org
