intermittent exotrophia

Why would patching not work for a person in their early 20s?  Does that mean Vision Therapy wouldnt work too?  I dont have enough funds right now to see a Doctor. Maybe in a couple of weeks after my bills are paid, i will have enough funds to.  Which i know i need to do very soon.

I have been patching but i dont know if its getting worse or better.  how can i be able to tell if patching is working for me or not? when i cover my strong eye, it takes me a second for two to focus with my intermittent exotrophia eye.  When i take off the patch and look in a mirror, it works together for alittle bit then when i turn away from the mirror, it turns out again.  why is it that when i look in the mirror, i can focus get my eyes straight?

If you truly have intermittant exotropia,I don't believe patching will help your situation.  You seem to have some ability to get eyes straight with focusing effort.  Please see a pediatric ophthalmologist to find out what can be done for your specific problem.  You need to see a strabismus expert in person.
