Hi, by chance did you find out what is wrong? I have every single symptom that you have, and been through almost every test out there. blood work,MRI's, CAT scans, stress test, and more. All is good.I do have a very small hiatal hernia and am taking prilosec daily(seems to help)The pressure in my head and ears is unbearable. causing severe neck pain and burning sensations (my head feels like it's on fire)I am so lightheaded it's almost impossible to have a life. I have tried anxiety meds and xanax. (NOTHING HELPS)If you find anything out please let me know, because this is the worst.I would not wish this on anyone. I am going to an allergist and EMT next week, I will let you know if I find anything. GOOD LUCK TO YOU, OR I SHOULD SAY US AND ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE SUFFERING WITH THIS.

with all these symptoms, and even more importantly becasue you feel so confused and helpless (uderstandably), my advice would be to obtain a full workup at either the Mayo clinic (preferably in Minnesota) of the Cleveland Clininc (preferably in Cleveland.) All tests are ordered in an orderly, fairly prompt fashion, and all the doctors have access to all the tests. you can stay in a nearby hotel. As I understand,It's tough to get into the MAyo these days-- but I've been there and in my opinion it is at least worth a phone call to see how you'll be managed, and how long it may take to be seen. when I went (for a chronic pain problem which I am recvoering from) I simply showed up and waited for an opening. this can take anywhere from a day or 2 to a week or 2-- you can discuss this when you call. I know from experience that being referred out from your MD for various tests and specialists is emotionally unbearable. It is also less effiecient and less cooperative than a clinic like the MAyo or the cleveland clinic. good luck

Hi, thank you very much for your reply.
Regarding the head screening , I had a CT scan of the Brain done on 4/2/06,the report says:
ventricules are of normal size and configuration without any evidence of hydrocephalus. There is no evidence of intra-or extra-axial masses, mass effect or acute hemorrhage. The visualized osseous structures including the calvarium and skull base region are normal.
IMPRESSION:study within normal limits.
Is this the test you were recomending? If a nervous system disorder is rule out, what else could it be?
Thanks,

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
To answer your questions:
1) There are many diseases that can lead to these symptoms.  The cardiac testing you have had should rule out many of the heart conditions.  I would consider a neurology referral to evaluate for any nerve damage or CNS diseases that can cause some of these symptoms.  An MRI can be considered.

2) Although possible, I am not aware of a specific GI symptom that can lead to these symptoms.

3) Head imaging - either with a CT scan or MRI - can be considered to further evaluate the dizziness.

4) A hiatal hernia is typcically treated with medications to prevent GERD.  Severe cases would require a surgical treatment.

5) It is possible for those medications to lead to some of the symptoms you describe.  Discussion with your personal physician should be done if this is suspected.

You can consider a second medical opinion if the diagnosis is still in doubt.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
