IUI-looking for a 2WW buddy

I had my first IUI this morning (Saturday) after getting an HCG (Pregnyl) shot on Thursday. I can not test until November 29, 2009. I am hopeful, but not sure what to expect. My husband has two varicoceles and I have PCOS. We just happened upon a viable follicle on Monday when I had my first consult with the RE. She was surprised too. My husband's sperm wash showed good motility so we shall see. So far since the shot I have had headaches and a little tired. Don't want to get fooled by the HCG symptoms as pregnancy, but I know it will be hard. I also have to take the Progesterone capsules vaginally starting Sunday night b/c my uterine lining was a little thinner than she wanted.

I don't have Blue Care Network, but your insurance should have it listed in your policy online. Or you could call them. My RE's office had an infertility line to Aetna that I had to call in order to get my billing number and find out how many treatments I was approved for. We are approved for 6 IUI's in a lifetime. Most of my medications are covered. If we don't get preggo in 6 tries I guess we would go back to adoption b/c insurance does not cover IVF and there are certainly no guarantees with IVF. I really hope it doesn't come to that though!

Check on your insurance website they may have a number to call regarding infertility. Hope this helps! And I totally agree with the testing early. It took everything in my power to not test too early and now that I tested yesterday and today I don't feel any better! Take care! Let me know when you start your next TWW-we may be together again!

Had a wonderful Thanksgiving...even got a faint 2nd line again. Only to turn around and start spotting the very next day. So i guess the first time didnt work with IUI....here goes round 2. I was really wishing hard that i didnt have to go through all of this again.
For all of those starting IUI for the 1st time----DONT test early....it really messes with your mind...makes you obsessed, and crazy. I wont ever do that to myself again.
I kept saying to myself im only going to test one time early so i can see what a 2nd line looks like. Yeah right...one time my arse !
Going in for BW Monday and just ordered some more FSH shots.
Does anyone out there have Blue Care Network and know how much or many times they cover for infertility treatments?? I am so worried the next time i call they will be saying i am to my limit.

Hi ladies, not sure what's going on, but I'm not feeling as hopeful! No AF yet, but my system is so off track that's not uncommon. I'm 14dpiui and got my second BFN. Ugh! The doctor wanted me to test tomorrow as my first day, but not sure that anything will be different at this point. I'm not even getting a faint line or anything hopeful. I guess the Progesterone can cause metallic taste b/c I still have it, plus nausea, tired, and headaches. I usually get really irritable and tired with AF, but none of this other stuff.

Because this was such a fluke with the RE finding a follicle the first time I went in I haven't been put on anything to regulate my cycle yet. If I'm not pregnant I need her to show up in a timely manner so that we can possibly get another IUI in before Christmas. I still have lots of testing to do if she does show. More BW, the HSG test, and something else I can't remember. I was just so sure that I was preggo! Lots of good symptoms even though HCG shot had left my system. I guess Progesterone can do all that too! Sorry I just needed to vent.

Welcome! You are catching most of us at the end of our TWW, but I think some of us will be starting the train again soon.

Did we get any BFP's this time? I haven't heard from any of you in a while. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Take care.

Hello--
I am hoping I can join your forum...even though I am not on the tww train quite yet.
A little about me....I have 2 children--without any problems...one I had in college, and the other right into our marriage--both kind of hard times.  About one and a half years ago, we decided we wanted a third-we finally were all settled and ready.  Well, that was not the way it would be.  I had ovarian cysts...which were cleared up with Yaz....then we tried...nothing...Yaz again for a cyst....and have tried two more times with Lexatrole and Ovidrel trigger shot/timed intercourse.  Last month I had 3 good-lookin' (haha) follies, 8 mm lining (sad that we know all these numbers etc.)...and like "usuk" said, nothing!  It does get hard when scientifically everything seems perfect-o.
The dr. suggested this month we go ahead and do an IUI...my husband hasn't had a sperm count yet, but he decided that if we are going to do a count, might as well shove those damn swimmers up there, too.
So, trying that probably next Saturday.
Interested to see how the iui goes...and wishing that all of us can end this forum soon and talk about feeling morning sick, etc.
Hoping everyone had a nice Thanksgiving, and we can get Christmas gifts next month!

So sorry. DH an I had all the best indicators this month. 3-4 follies, over 100 miliion sperm, etc. But nothing. Do not be upset that you believed. The trigger shots in my opinon leave your urine before they stop affecting your boobs, nausea, etc. I have BFNs and still have PG symptoms at the last minute before AF (metallic taste, sore BBs, nausea). Hang in there. :)

Well I finally got my results and I am sad to say its a BFN. My blood results confirmed this and I am to stop taking the progesterone (yes suppositories) and AF should show up any day. I told myself I wouldnt cry but I did - I thought I would be use to the negative results by now. But I did feel good about this cycle and felt the most hope I'd felt in a long time - I think thats what got me. Everything seemed so perfect this time I thought for sure it would work. I even thought I had some pregnancy symptoms but perhaps I was just wanting it too much. I guess its not meant to be - alteast not this time. My DH and I will wait until February now to try IUI again as we are planning a trip to Jamaica now - who knows, maybe Jamaica will be good for us!

Anyways, I wish you all luck! I hope to see some good news soon!
