The report shows the white blood cell count is increased. WBC or White blood cells serve to help the body to fight infections. The normal white blood count is between 4500 and 10000 cells per micro-liter. The count is usually increased in infections. The different components of the WBC are the neutrophils, lymphocytes, basophils, esonophils and monocytes. And the neutrophils are usually increased in an acute infection. The platelet count usually needs to be watched in infections like dengue, either way the count is normal.
