Hair loss with Topiramate

I have been on Topiramate 25mg, 2 tablets twice daily for eight months and it has helped greatly with my overall energy and pain.  I had no side effects until the past three weeks and I have began to notice that I am losing a lot of hair.  I know that this is a possibility with this medication, but does it happen after such a long period of use?  Also, I have lost about thirteen pounds on this and am wondering if this is a nutrition issue.  Is there any way to avoid having to go off of the Topiramate, any supplements to take?  Will this stop after continued use or will I go bald?  I have read about a medication called Zonegran that is similar, without the hair loss.  What are your thoughts?
