Missed Periods

I am not pregnant, as the story shall begin.  This is the second missed period I have had.  I am always on time, always 5 days, always light.  Now, all of a sudden, two months and no show...... I am still in the "do I really have fibro phase" as I am seeing a new doctor for a second opinion.  But, If I do have fibro, is this a symptom?  Just wondering? Because It's only April 1, and I have been to a doctor of some sort too too many times this year.  I'm trying to diagnose myself without a doctor, based on other experts (all of you) before I rush off to the doctor..... THANKS

Yes, you have replied to another post or two.  You are very informed, must do a lot of research, which is wonderful!  I'm not worried so much, as long as I AM NOT PREGNANT.   If I was, then I would be worried.  I suffer from PPMD and it gets worse with each pregnancy, so I do not want to have an y more children.  But, since the test said I wasn't, and I don't feel like I am, and I am on the pill, I wanted to know if it was associated with someone else.  I will talk to my rheumy when I get there on Friday.  But, otherwise, I will see what happens next month.....   Thanks!

Hey Alison, I believe I have replied to one of your earlier posts.
For medical dx purposes, you have to wait for the 3rd missed period.
For now, do not be too concerned.
If you have any imbalances, physical or emotional, elevated stress levels, or hidden stress that can elude most of us, now is a good time to reflect.

It may be wise to look back at your life and see what fundamental
changes, you are willing to make, in order to help yourself enjoy better health and a better life in general.
There's a theory that b'cause Fibro is mainly a female syndrome, there are
an underlying hormonal issues. So, should this be a fact, may be it's linked with your missed periods. Or again it could just be that the  B/C Pill - if you on it- is messing up with your cycles. Who knows?
You are young, your 1st dx was -according to the old criteria- questionable perhaps, however, as Fibro is a syndrome of many symptoms, a dx means very little as far as treatment is concerned.
When there's no "medical" cure offered, only symptom management,
then fundamentally, I find that there's very little value in all this investigation, unless you have underlying Lyme Disease or a Pathogenic Mycoplasma infection or similar, that mimic FMS and which your 2nd rheumie CANNOT diagnose!

There are new FMS dx criteria, so the 11 out of 18 tender points test alone
is not sufficient anymore. here's the link:

Confusing enough? Yes!!

Please post again if you need more details.
Take care.
