Sleep suggestions

Sleep suggestions

I have rearranged body pillows, necks pillows, firm pillows, Tempur-pedic pillows, etc. in every way imaginable - in attempts to redistribute the painful pressure I experience when lying in bed.  Has anybody discovered a pillow, mattress topper, or even mattress, which has been effective in alleviating their sleeping-related pain?  I am completely frustrated!  I have received some benefit from my Tempur-pedic pillows (just not enough): Does anyone have a Tempur-pedic mattress?  Oppinions?  Suggestions?  Anything!

My rhematologist advised that I get a memory foam mattress topper @ Sam's Club.  She said it is the thickness that is needed and it is dense.  I'm thinking it was over $100 for a king size, but we are so glad we got it.  I think I sleep better.  I can see some improvement on the pressure point thing.  But, I have seen a BIG improvement on my husband.

I wished I could remember the brand.  It was heavy though.  Not like the ones at Wal-Mart.  It took my daughter and I both to lift it in the buggy.

Do you hurt severely every single day?

I have the same problem with mattresses & pillows ......I even dread going to bed........I fight with the pillows and toss & turn pretty constantly to alleviate the pain in my right hip and leg.....and in my left shoulder.  Lack of a good sleep is not too good for daily alertness...If you could think of the brand I would appreciate it......

Here is a pillow developed for chiari patients for after surgery......we have similar pain and sleep issues. If it works for us, it may work for u.

The pain is not constantly severe - but it's always there & varies from hour to hour.  However, at nights and in the mornings I would classify it fairly close to "severe".

I swear I'm not plugging the company I work for but has anyone ever stayed at a Marriott Hotel? They put all other beds to shame. I dream of this bed. I sleep on a futon because that is all I can afford right now. These beds are wonderful. Never slept better then when I stayed at a Marriott. No pain at a Marriott...

If I won the lotto that would be the only thing I would care about getting is a new bed. Ha...

I go to bed lie there for an hour to 2 hours drift of to sleep then wake up couple hours later its driving me nuts.

My best friend has severe rheumatoid arthritis and she was given one of the foam mattress toppers as a b'day gift.  She swears by it and says she sleeps so much better now.

Thanks for that info. selma :-)

After my DHs heart surgery last year I bought a set of the adjustable Tempur-pedic twin beds. We have them side by side, but we each have our own controls. After sleeping on this mattress I can not sleep on a regular pillow top mattress. The Tempur-pedic mattress forms around your body but still firm enough not to cause backaches. All three of our children have replaced their beds for the Tempur-pedic . They are a little costly but so well worth every penny.

This is the set that I purchased. Prices go from $1599.00 to $5999.00. But like I said it was the best thing I have ever slept on.

I had purchased a Nova Form Mattress Topper from Costco made by NASA and it helps a lot,

I found that the 2" was not enough, the 4" was too much and later found a 3", and it was just right !!

I have one on my bed, in my travel trailer, and one that we take with us when traveling!

I can not sleep without it....

My friend purchased a Tempur-pedic mattress, they love it.  They said it was costly but worth every penny!

You can buy the Thera-pedic mattress toppers also. I'm not certain what price range they are in, but they feel just like our mattresses.
