Vitamin D Deficient Fibromyalgia

Has anyone else had a vitamin D test done lately? My test came back last month at 19ng/Ml.
Very low.

I'm still taking 6,000 iu everyday.  If I weren't taking such a high amount, my level would be back down where it was.  I started out as low as 8, which almost killed me.  2,000 iu is NOT enough for most of us with really low vitamin D levels.  The last time it was checked it was still barely in range at 39.  It should be at least 50.  At least with it being at 39, that's an indication that 6,000 iu is not too much to take.

Yes, mine was also low a few months ago, around 19.  I am getting that and a few other things checked.  I did not know I should have went all the way up to 50,000 units.  I was taking 1400 units before and upped it to 5,000.  I guess I will find out soon enough.

Hi; Yes i had my vitamin d checked and it was very low 15..The doc put me on 50,000 un for 8 wks i was supposed to get it rechecked but I ended up seeing a different doc at the office and didn't get it rechecked.. Well now I went to the docs again on Thurs..and they did notice that I needed it checked so i have the script in fact I am going today to get checked for that Lupus and rheumotoid facter... I have been suffering with chronic widespread pain and weakness in limbs..My sed rate came up high, high IgA (which indicates chrohns possibly)i will be going for colonoscopy in March.. i have heard that Chrohns and arthritis can go hand and hand.,I'm not sure arthritis or fibromyalgia..The only thing i have noticed is that fibro i'm not sure if that would show this widespread inflammation??? The prim doc is putting me on celebrax until i can get to the rheum doc..My GI problems continue until i can get the colonoscopy.. Keep us posted I'm interested to know how the vitamin d could be maybe linked to this... Take care

Hi
I had mine done last year and it was low so I went on the regimen of 50,000iu for 4 or 6 wks and a daily 2000iu dose.  It hasn't stopped my symptoms, but my doctor said it is for the immune system also.

My Vit D levels were very low as well. I am now taking a high dose of it to get my levels up. I think a lot of us- especially those of us who live in North America and North of the Equator have low Vit D.
