Congrats on your pregnancy.  Or if you are trying to get pregnant, good luck and have fun!  :)

I got the following from an epilepsy web site:
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) lists Lyrica in Pregnancy Category C. This indicates that caution is advised, but the benefits of the medication may outweigh the potential risks. There have been no good scientific studies in women, but studies in animals have shown some harm to the fetus.

Personally I would not consider pain management to outweigh the risks, so I personally would stop taking Lyrica during pregnancy if that is what you were taking it for.  I realize that Lyrica is taken for other things besides pain management.  Really, check with your doctor.

I found for some reason while I was pregnant, that I did not have as many symptoms or pain.  Pregnancy does change your hormones around.  But then, in the beginning of the pregnancy I worked 20 hours per week and stopped working towards the end of the pregnancy.  I think not working full time helped my pain issues.  You really need to stay as stress free as you can during the pregnancy.  Yeah, I guess trying to stay stress free can be stressful in itself!  *grin*  My daughter is now 2, and I am glad I was not on meds during pregnancy.  At the time I was pregnant my doctors thought I had lupus (the fibro rediagnosis is recent), so I had to come off the antimalarial drugs (plaquenil) and no steroids (prednizone) while pregnant.  The plaquenil did help some of my joint issues (as did the occasional prednizone treatments), so it was a hard thing to come off of.  Some lupus people do stay on plaquenil or other drugs depending on the severity of their symptoms (like if there is organ involvement).  So, really, only your doctor can help you decide whether the benefits outweigh the risks.  When I was pregnant, my OB had all my records forwarded from the rhumatologist so she could go over what I needed to be doing.

Hi,  I am new here,  but I think you should ask your Dr. before taking this drug, there are lots of sx (side effects) and I would think if your Dr. knows you are pregant would KNOW if you should be taking it.  Hoping for you that it is okay, as getting rid of the pain is really important.  Good luck to you and Congrats on the baby!
