Hi there,
I had the Nissen Fundo due to a long segment of Barrets Esopaghus. Pre-op I also had a lot of ENT symptoms and a few months post-op the ENT symptoms got worse.
Long story short: I went to a Otolaryngologist who diagnosed me with Chricopharengeal muscle dysfunction/achalasia and muscle thickening/spasms. I have had 3 treatments with Botillium injections into the Chrico muscle and my ENT symptoms subside for a while, until the botillium wears off so I am still struggling and trying to avoid surgery.
It may be good for you to consult with an Oto doc or ENT.
I had the NF procedure, and only have the bitter taste you describe comes from a sinus condition. If the GERD symptoms are still present, that's another story.
Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.
I have not had this procedure so, I can not speak from experience.....there are a few members who may pop on and offer insight.
In the mean time, talk with your Dr about your concerns , get checked for sinus issues like post nasal drip.....elevate the head of you bed in case this is still acids moving up into your throat and mouth...elevating will help keep them where they belong....
Talk with your Dr as he/she will be better able to know what your next step should be.
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
