who has this?

Hello, I am sure thaere must be someone who has similar complaints as I do.  It started about 41/2 months ago.  I do remember lifting some heavy plant pots outside.  After a few nights sleep, when I tried to get up from bed after waking I felt severe pain in my upper ribcage, epigastric area....it radiates to the sides.  This pain lasts for approx 2-3 hours after getting out of bed.  I have tried different beds, etc.  I went to PCP and he tried me on omeprazole...and librax.  I have had an UGI and the only thing that shows is a minimal sliding hiatal hernia.  I also had an ERCP done with an ejection fraction of 34.  So far ...no diagnosis for this pain.  The Gastologist does not think my pain is from the gallbladder or hernia.  Sometimes after eating if I should bend over I get point blank sharp pain just below my left breast with instant palpitations.  That is relieved almost immed. after straightening up.  I have tried different beds...a chiropractor... and am now scheduled for an upper endoscopy.  I am in such pain when I try to move I am at my wits end.  I just hunch forward trying to type and I feel like a knife is stabbing me in my upper left side ribs.  I have had acute pancreatitis before...3 years ago.  The doc says nothing shows up as it  causing a problem.  I do feel the burning in my throat.  And a sense of fullness pretty constantly in my upper left side.  I have NOT lost weight.
We have just returned from 3 weeks of vacation which was wonderful except for waking and trying to move for the 1st few hours.  I was careful with what I ate.   I am 55 years old now and  am wondering" can I get acute arthritis in my ribs?"  There must be an answer.  I did go on celebrex for 3 weeks, it made my stomach feel so much worse and did not help the rib cage pain at all.  Any thoughts from anyone?

Just a note to put all this out there and out of my mind.  I am really ill today.  Just pain in my epigastric area and nausea.  Pain with breathing and moving under my heart.
The endo I had was negative for H.Pylori.  I do have duodenol nodulariies, but the doctor said that will not cause the pain.  I had pancreatitis 3 years ago...and about 5 months ago started with the ribcage and epigastric pain.  ERCP showed gallbladder EJ of 34 which I understand is not bad.  My lipase is up again and the md yesterday says that is from pancreatitis inflammation  caused from biliary dyskinesia.  No stones were found.
My cholesterol was 237...HDL is good.  Potassium was/is 5.4/5.8.  No etiology found.
I am taking enzymes and librax and zegerid for all of this.  I still don't know WHY I have any of this.  ANd I hurt and feel ill.  Not sure what to do next.  Blah blah blah...

See an Internist.  Ask to take Malic Acid with your meals and digestive enzymes just after.  Your problem may be due to a lack of acid and or enzyme production.  Then ask to ween off of antacids.  Good Luck!

I'll add my two cents worse. It could be a pinched nerve, and if that is the case, the only thing that will help is a chiropractor. Believe it or not, when I have a lot of gas, or am hurting in my rib cage area, a visit to my chiro a few times helps. When a vertebrae is out of alignment, it can press on certain nerves and cause these problems.

It could be chondritis (sp?). The only reason I say that is because I have had it on more than one occasion. It does hurt to move.

This is just a thought.

HI and welcome to teh GERD forum.

It sounds like u may have ur vagus nerve involved with this....if u use the search this community feature u will find other threads that mention the vagus nerve.

DO check if this ais a possibility and see a NL since they deal with nerves.
