Right upper quadrant pain during period

For the past 10 months I have experienced 5 episodes of right upper quadrant pain that begins 4 days before my period. I have mirena so I do not get a period often and have only had one period without pain since This began. At first it is dull and constantly achy but becomes sharp 2 days before my period starts. Two episodes have been severe enough to go to the emergency room. The last episode was the worst so far and I had severe stabbing pain under my right ribs about 2 inches from the midline. The pain pain radiated up my shoulder and I could barely stand. It was excruciating to breathe as any time I inhaled the pain intensified. Each time I have gone to the hospital my lab work has been normal (CBC, chemistry panel, liver and pancreas enzymes). I have had a normal hyda scan and negative ruq ultrasound. My egd was non revealing and my celiacs was negative. The gastroenterologist concluded that the pain is not gi related and referred me to gyn.  My primary care doctor thinks it could be endometriosis or related to fibroids that were found on ultrasound. My gyn said there is no way it could be related to fibroids given the location of them on the uterus and said that endometriosis is not likely given that I have the mirena. She told me it is likely biliary colic that could be triggered by hormones and referred me to gi. Has anyone else experienced this? I am desperate for answers. How could something hurt so badly and no one have any idea what is wrong?

I see that this post is 2 years old, have you had your work up resolved to find the connection or source of your pain? You are describing what I am going through~to a T!
