Digestion Problems???

Hi, I just had my gallbladder taken out 1/11/10 via laprascopic (spelling???) surgery.  It was pretty much routine and I was discharged to go home the next day.  Since coming home, I've had excruciating pain that 10mg percocet just barely takes the edge off, and I can hold food down....or so I thought.

I woke up in the middle of the night last night violently sick, and realized that some of the "mess" was actually food that I had eaten the day after I was discharged.  I had a similar incident on the 8th that made me decide to go to the ER to begin with.  I am very worried and my finacee is terrified.  What is going on ???????

A thought for you - I had that surgery last Feb. The pain after the surgery sent me back and forth to the surgeon for almost a month and every time he would say you are just a slow healer. Well finally I went to the ER with pain so bad that they gave me three doses of Morphine and that didnt even work so they gave me a cat scan, sonogram because my blood pressure was so high because of the pain. My surgeon was called in and he suggested that we go to the operating room to do an exploratory operation because he knew there was a problem but wasnt sure what it was and had to go in there to see. I agreed and had the operation. After that operation I had leakage coming out of the hole where my belly button is. He said that was normal but I was worried because one night there was alot and it looked bloody - I went to the er and they took a sample of the leakage and sent it out to be tested. I never heard back from anyone. I consulted a lawyer about all my missed work and inquired if my doctor was responsible because here I had another surgery to fix what went wrong in the first one and had never been given an explanation. Well after reviewing all my documents the lawyer called me and said - the reason for the second surgery was because during the first surgery I got an infection - which stayed in an air pocket preventing it from going into my blood stream and that is why it was not diagnosed which by the way is the cause of the horrible pains. But the doctor actually knew what the problem was and he re-operated making a drain for the infection to come out. So the doctor is protected legally for me suffering for one month after the first operation with pain sooo bad that I could not function as a normal person and I too was given percocet for the pain which actually worked better for me then the morphine. I dont know if this is your case but the only reason why you would have such horrible pains is because of an infection. If it is in an air pocket like mine it will go undetected. Good Luck and I feel your pain as it was mine for a long time. I am still recovering from thoses surgeries and it has been almost a year.
