For people who have/had gallstones

I started out having this burning feeling in my stomach a few hours after I ate. It would grow and seem to come up into my chest. I went to the Dr. and was put on Nexium. It didn't seem to do much for about two to three weeks, then the reflux got better. I was still having the burning stomach though. I thought ulcers, but my Dr. sent me for an ultrasound and they found "multiple small stones" I was sent to a surgeon, who says I have all the "classic" signs of gallstones. I thought gallstones meant excrutiating pain like child birth, not a burning sensation that comes and goes. I do have back and shoulder blade pain, and lately it seems I've been getting a little more nauseous. I was just wondering for those who've had them, what kind of symptoms did you have if not the child birth pain?

Thanks so much for the reply. I was so confused because I am not in any great pain, more like a little discomfort. I always hear of these people ending up in the E.R. and was wondering why my gallbladder has to come out if I am not in that kind of pain. I thank God I am not and feel for those who are or were.

Its been years for me but my only symptoms was the burning in my stomach & I was belching a lot.... I never did have any pain & I had a lot of gall stones & the Dr. removed my gall bladder & the burning & belching stopped....Good Luck!
