Pneumomediastinum?

10 weeks ago i was diagnosed with Pneumomediastinum, or  air in the space between the lungs, in the
middle of the chest (the mediastinum). Ive been to lung doctors, esophagus drs and my primary physician. I was told the air would reabsorb back into the blood stream in a week or two. Ten weeks later the problem still hasn't gone away. I get real sharp pains in my chest, in my neck and in my arms. I have a hard time breathing sometimes especially after eating a meal. Im in good physical condition and am 22 years old. Before the problem i was working out on a daily basis and was in good shape. Since the problem i have not been able to do any kind of physical activity. I was recenlty put on advair to see if they would help but it hasnt. Could this be some kind of disease or condition that know one knows about? This has really taken its tole on me and has taken away from my normal life. All the doctors tell me is to wait it out, but im convinced there is something else wrong with me. Please Help!

If you experienced these symptoms along with what may appear as a rapid heart beat or if you had chills, cold sweats, or any tingling on your body during the onset of your symptoms , you may want to check with your regular care physician. I had the exact same things happen to me, I am only 23 and it turned out that i had a very rare lung virus going around that caused the air in my chest. I was put on homeopathic supplements to help. So maybe if you could find a hollistic doctor in the area, you could find the source of your problem. Hope this helps
