Post Cholecystectomy

I had my gallbladder removed on Thursday last week which was 5 days ago, I have had diarrhea all day that is bright yellow in color. Is this something I should be concerned with and should I call my doctor?  I am a bit of a worry wart so I don't want to over react.

I too have had my gallbladder out and have had a whole myriad of problems including the diarrhea. You both need to ask your doctors for Questran. It binds with the bile that is being dumped into the intestines by the liver and carries it out of the body. I have been one of the unlucky ones to still have problems afterwards but the Questran stopped the diarrhea almost instantly.

It's not abnormal for this to happen. Eat small low fat meals (bland things like oatmeal) and you will have less problems. Your body is adjusting to the new circumstances. If it continues beyond a week you may want to call the doctor. They can give you a medicine that is like powder that will help.
