pain Cholecystomy

Its been 18 months since i have had since surgery .I get trendous ride flank pain .

I've been on strict diet schedule ,exercises ,anatacids ,prokinetics etc .

I have undertstood the pain is highest in morning during bowel movements ,wind passing .
I get dizzy at times .Vit B12 injections gives me some endurance strength .

After surgery ,they had mentioned Inflammed Gall bladder with dense adhesions around .

Could this be left over adhesions causing this pain .I have also noticed ,after i take the Vit Injection .
As soon as the medicine sweeps thru the body ,i get knives kind of feeling below right rib and below .

Does anyone have a experience of pain due to adhesions ?

I've had CT scan,HIDA scan,MRI ,Upper endoscopy ,lower endoscopy .

This article has a chart with possible causes of post-chol pain causes and adhesions is listed:  http://www.emedicine.com/med/topic2740.htm.  I have ZERO medical knowledge but I read a lot looking for my own answers.

I have no doubt that your pain is VERY real, it's wearing you down and frightening you.  They can't find anything.  They don't have any answers.  Unfortunately, if your symptoms aren't text book, some doctors scratch their heads and hope that it spontaneously resolves.  I'm sure sometimes it does.  But in a lot of cases, it doesn't resolve.  If your medical team has given up, get a referral elsewhere.  Do as much research as you can.  You've already started by reaching out in this forum.  Honestly, the more you know, the better your chances of finding an answer.

Good luck.  I'm so sorry I can't be of more help.  If you find anything, let me know?  You'll continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

They say they couldn't find anything .So they are giving me medicines for IBS.

Could it be scar tissue /adhesions .They would never come on a Scan /MRI .

They told me it was difficult lap chole

Hi jaimasand:

I'm SO sorry to hear about your pain.  Since you've had all of the usual tests done, are you in fairly common contact with a health care team?   Just curious to know what their opinions are (Post-Cholecystectomy Syndrome, Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction, etc.)

I also have extreme right flank pain post-surgery and the cause is unknown.  Check out the online book, "The First Principles of Gastroenterology": http://gastroresource.com/GITextbook/en/Default.htm.

It was my understanding that it's super-difficult and risky to remove a gallbladder that's inflamed.  Was it open-cholecystectomy or laparoscopic-cholecystectomy?

Good luck and Godspeed!
