anal mass/pain

Three days ago when using the restroom, I noticed a mass about the size of a pea had formed about 1.5 inches away from my anus.  Felt like it was bruised but left it alone. The following day, it grew to the size of a Japanese peanut but discomfort followed. Swelling spread forward and reached my anus. Today, it swelled up a little more but now it brings pain when using the restroom, when coughing and seating and an additional pea sized mass formed between the original point and my anus.

I would go see a proctologist. I just had a pretty bad hemorrhoid experience and it kind of sounds like that. Have you tried any over the counter treatments?

I'm an LPN, but do not work for medhelp. I'll try to answer your question. It could be a boil, hemorrhoid, or benign cyst. You could make an appt. with your family doctor for further help. My husband had an issue like this once & it turned out to be a boil. Feel better soon!
