drugs to avoid before surgery

I will be having laparoscopic cholecystectomy  in a couple of weeks.  I was given a list of drugs to review and stop taking any that I may be on for 10 days before procedure.  I am having trouble determining whether my migraine medication, Imitrex, is one them. Sumitriptan and naproxen are not on the list, but since this drug narrows blood vessels, I wonder if it's best not to take it before surgery.

Thanks.  My mistake.  Naproxen was on the list as naprosyn so I won't take any Aleve.  I think I will not take the Imitrex, even though none of it's components are on the list.  If I get a migraine, it'll have to be Tylenol.

Person who schedules procedures for the surgeon's office gave me the list and told me to check it with what I take.  I specifically asked about the Imitrex, but she wasn't sure.  Pharmacist said sumatriptan wasn't on list so it should be okay, but I'm still not sure. My mistake about naproxen.  It is on the list as naprosyn.  So I won't take any aleve. Thanks.

Yes, don't use the Sumitriptan or the Naproxen or any NSAIDs before surgery.  If the Naproxen wasn't on the list, it should be, because it's an NSAID.  With the Imitrex, it would be better to be safe than sorry.  I'm not entirely sure, but it seems like it would be a safer bet to struggle through those migraines for the next couple of weeks.  I do know for sure with the Naproxen, because it's an NSAID.

Call the surgeon's office and ask. Safest way to find out.
