BellyAcher, did you find a solution to your nausea?
had an mrcp on monday, showed nothing. everything normal, now what? Doctor says he's stumped. the pain never goes away, sometimes it eases up so that it's just annoying, but sometimes it is severe. food doesn't seem to make a difference either way. Any one have any thing similar? said he could do exploratory surgery, but doesn't want to unless it becomes dibilitating. who knows!
Have you checked out the possibility of Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction? I had similar problems after my gallbladder surgery and it took a couple of years of "attacks" and pain and nausea to figure out what I actually had. This is a great website for finding the answers, and CalGal is the one that keyed me in on this dx. Also, I have since discovered that this may have developed after taking the pill Yaz and Yasmine. We are currently investigating this possibility.
Check out symptoms of SOD and if you see any similarities. Many Dr.s do not even know about this, so it rather hard to have someone Dx. The ERCP with manometry is what I have had to help with this.
BTW my symptoms are pain in side under rib (where gallbladder was), nausea and sometimes "attacks". Word of advise, do not let them do exploratory surgery, sometimes the scarring is a much more difficult problem later.
Take Care and if you can contact CalGal on this website, she is great with SOD information.
Thanks for the idea. I will check out the symptoms to see if they are similar. I am looking for another doctor for a 2nd opinion. I've heard to avoid ercp if you can, cuz it can cause pancreatis. But this pain is ridiculous! btw, have never been on yaz or yasmine or any other oral b/c. Have had 4 abdominal surgeries, am wondering if it is scar tissue? will keep searching for answers. thanks
I also have the same pain, I had my gallbladder removed 13 years ago, and ever since thyen I feel a fullness where my gallbladder used to be, I feel very bloated most of the time and for the past year have been having pain in the same spot. The Drs seem to think that it is scar tissue that has formed in there, But told me that it might get worse if I have surgery , because scar tissue could form again. I have done upper endoscopy, colonoscopy barium enemas CT sacns , MRIs, etc, I just don't know hwat else to do, I have been to 3 different gastro Drs and currently schedule to see a fourth.
Good luck with your case and keep us posted if you find out of any other tests that we could do.

I have had ultrasound, ct with barium enema, mri with mrcp, no luck everything normal. It almost seems like it's in my colon. Dr. doesn't want to do a colonoscopy. haven't had endoscopy yet. I'm gong to request my mri/mrcp & ct be read somewhere else., then go from there. I hope you find some answers. Keep me posted on your case, I will do the same. I did check out SOD symtoms, and it really doesn't seem to fit. the pain actually starts lower than where my gallbladder was then over time radiates upwards. Again, good luck.
ok. so I switched doctors. New dr. did a colonoscopy & endoscopy. found 3 pre-cancerous polyps, removed those. and severe chronic gastritis. taking perscription prilosec, then back to dr in 2 weeks. Don't know if these are the cause of the pain. I seriously don't think the gallstone had anything to do with it. will post more when I know more.
Hi
Thanks for the update. Keep us posted. Good luck.
