pain in rectum and lower back

I have diarrhoea third day with pains in rectum.Pills for stopping it I only took yesterday seemed to work until the evening, then it began again. But what scares me most is pain which comes in waves and is sometimes excrutiating. It hurts in the area of rectum and somewhere around my lower back. I passed no blood. The pain is worst in the evening, as if something inside my rectum was pushing itself up the colum. and the pain in lower back seems to be more persistent, dull but continuous. I also feel sick and got a headache but no urge to vomit.

Thank you for any advice,
Pavla

hi, thank you, you know, it is so helpful when somebody explains how things work.. it gets better, now I don't suffer from diarr. any more,  the lower back still hurts, though. But I still use the ointment and I also do some exercises to strenghten the back couse it seems to ease the pain. I start to believe that it was so confusing because there was indeed an infection which caused the pain as you say and at the same time my back said NO to the way I had been treating it. Thank you so much, it really helped (I was very scared at the beginning..)

hi again, yes indeed, colon and rectum disorders have a profound efect on the lower back, basically when the colon is inflammed and is full of gas that inturn pushes against your disc and nerve area and hence the pain. try taking panadol for a couple of days to relieve the infection. cheers.

thank you for this,
I visited the doctor yesterday and he thinks the same. The problem is, that the diarrhoea seased, i was on diet, but the pain in lower back persists. Do you think it might possibly be spine behind all this? Or just a coincidence? the pain is now only in the lower back, and i cant sit or lay or stay without feeling it. i tried doing some exercise and it seems to be better, but only for a while and then it comes back again. Do you think that these two different pains (in rectum and in lower back) can be somehow related?
Thank you,
Pavla

hello, your condition sounds like you might have infected one or more of your diverticular, anti-biotics should resolve your problem, in the meantime stay away from acidic foods and spices, eat fresh vegetables and drink black tea no milk.cheers
