Bad reaction to antibiotic?

Hi, I'm 19 M and I went to the er with what I think is a uti. I got antibiotics (Ciprofloxacin) 500mg. The symptoms go away and it's great. Except, I start to notice feeling a little weird. 1. I would feel quite "wired" and notice that my heart is a bit racey. 2 Along with that came odd random heart pain, or left chest pain. I also had small headaches pulsing every once in a while. 3. I also felt pain a couple times in my shoulder and once in my arm.

Now I know that antibiotics can have side effects, but should I be concerned about these? I know that cipro is a pretty strong antibiotic and it does cure my uti symptoms when I take it. I'm wondering if I'm taking too much of it considering I'm only about 110-115lbs. Or maybe I need a different antibiotic? For all I know these side effects aren't even possible with cipro. Any input?

Cipro has been "black boxed"  in the US.  You are not the only person who has experienced these problems; many others have too.  Your physician and the pharmacist should have brought this to your attention then let YOU decide whether you wanted to take it or not.

If I were you, I would NOT take anymore.  This also should be reported to the FDA.

If you need something in the future, make sure you get NO MORE cipro.

Well , apparently they cant give medical advice over the phone...wow. And my mother despises taking me to the hospital. She says that hes a doctor and knows what he's doing. But still, I'm not getting any relief from this and I'm definitely not taking anymore of that medicine.

I would call the ER ASAP and let them know what is going on, and, if the symptoms progress, go into the ER.
