My 12 year old daughter was dignosed with mono last year along with some other children becaose the water fountans at school but she did not have on long time effects her immune system was not the best for a while but she is doing fine now her doctor said there was really no concern and it would run it cours and it seems it has. hope this helps.
Hello, the test for mono is the Epstein Barr Virus test, and if it detected anything else, it would probably be things like hidden infections, maybe fibromyalgia, etc. The test CAN NOT trigger HIV to be positive, that is a separate test entirely.
As to the EBV viruse becoming positive due to other diseases, I really doubt it. This, however, would be a great question to ask the local lab, they could probably describe it better than I.
