Chronic Muscle Pain

I am 61, Male, in good health.  I take Atenolol and Lotrel for HBP and is consistantly 136/68.  My cholesterol was off the charts and began a regimine of Lipitor in 2001.  Within a few months I had severe muscle pain and loss of strength.  I was taken off Lipitor.  My current LDL is about 180 and use Flax Oil and Niacin supplements daily.  Since beginning Lotrel in 2007 I have had a recurrence of severe muscle pain and weakness.  I also suffered heat exhaustion in 2006 and now cannot tolerate more than 6 hours in, 90degree plus, heat.  I sometimes have night sweats, and chills.  My feet are so painful that I take Advil to sleep.  My doctor tells me that it is just aging.  This is not accurate because otherwise I am perfectly healthy mentally and physically.  I have experienced some blurred vision and dizziness lately but not consistently.  I am beginning to get really aggravated at the attitude of my doctor.  I do not smoke or drink but my liver enzymes and sugar came out high on a recent job physical.  A subsequent test showed both normal.  This is really starting to bug me because I am in constant pain 24/7 and do not want to take aspirin or advil and such just to get some relief.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Read these posts with interest and as it is the Meds thta make you feel so bad have you checked out if there are any Natural Remedys for bringing blood pressure under control, and lowering Cholestrol, I know that most of them have side effects and I decided a few years ago not to put myself through that when I was offered it, . have you googled it to see if you could do it without this powerful stuff.

I started on the same  hbp meds about two weeks ago.  I am experiencing the same foot pain and occasionally do have muscle spasms in  my legs.  Your article helped me as I do belive these may be side effects of the drug.  My blood work all came back excellent .  I too am 61 years old.  I work on my feet all day and am used to the tiredness and occasionally a little soreness but not the soreness I am getting now.  I will be watching your comments so please post f you get an answer and I too will do the same.
