Just eat smaller meals, and make sure you get plenty of aerobic exercise, there are some for the areas you speak of actually.
When you say bulky are you referring to fat? Some people just have a bulky frame.. Either way, your best bet is dieting to reduce your body fat %. Any exercise which burns calories will help too.
I would definitely recommend you invest in the wii fit!! You start feeling it working almost straight away and it tackles any problem areas of your choice!! I have recently started using it and I can honestly tell you that it does work!!
