Hand bumps/lumps

I have had these bump raise up under my skin and I was told they were soft tissue trauma,
swelling of the soft tissue.  It was only afterwards that I realized there was a pattern
to it, these lumps are in the IV sites from my last hospitalization where they had a
lot of trouble getting an IV in and I had IV insertion at least 5 times.  But this is a
recent appearance and the hospitalization was 4 months ago.  Have you seen this and
how long does it take to go away?

It could be scar tissue.  If you are concerned then you should see your physician.

Usually, if the lumps or due to difficulty in getting the IV, they will show up right away, not 4 months later. I think I would call the nurse at your doctor's office and ask her, I doubt if it is anything serious, but, she would know better.
