Dental fistula (gum boil) healing time after root canal

hello, i had the first part of a root canal done 3 weeks ago, i had a gum boil above the tooth that was draining regularly but since i had the first part of the root canal done the draining has stopped but the fistula remains ( looks a little less red though) i am due to go back in a week to finish the filling but wasn't sure how long the fistula normally takes to heal and disappear. some websites say a few days and others say months if the gumboil has been there for a very long time.

Any ideas?

Regards.

I'm sorry, but I don't have an answer for you. I would strongly suggest you see, or at least, speak with your dentist as soon as possible. If you have a POSSIBLE infection, they may not be able to proceed with the root canal and you may need antibiotics. Only a professional can diagnose this issue. Good luck
