Liver problem ??

Hi...I would like to know if I have a liver problem ?? My GGT is 238 and ALT 142. I do not consume alcohol at all. Appreciate your response.

Those are very high liver enzyme levels.Have you ever had trauma to your liver?How about your gallbladder do you still have it?What is your Doctors next move?I would suggest an MRI of the liver.

yes i agree with poolparty that u really got elevated GGTP and ALT levels..please go for an USG abdomen..you are definately having a liver disease...my father and his sister are both non alcoholics and both of them have cryptogenic cirrhosis with elevated liver enzymes...pls don't panic...medications are there and you will be soon relieved on early treatment...

Any other abnormal labs?  i.e. Amylase, Lipase, Hepatitis Panel?

Any medical problems?  Medications?    

These enzymes can be elevated by other problems besides a liver problem, so all possibilities should be explored.

Has your doctor showed any concerns over these numbers? I would certainly call and ask him about it. As Londres said, there could be other problems causing the elevation and all bases should be covered.

Thanks so much for all your responses. I have had ultrasound and there seems to be inflammation on my gall bladder and fatty liver, however I'm not really overweight.
I have a specialist appointment suggesting to take out my gall bladder.
What do you think, could this help ?
