Question about rabies

So every page i visit says that rabies virus its short lived and it dies when its exposed to the air and sunlight but in that period of time when its no inactivaded can the virus be transfer from one surface to another lets say infected dog saliva that its in the ground then i walk over it and my shoes transfer the virus to my car then my house carpet etc or the rabies virus does not work like that because i have read parvovirus can be transfer that way
