Old knee injury pain, limited mobility and warm to the touch?

I got into a car accident a couple of years ago and injured the top of my spine and my right knee. It's always been achy with some pain, but a little over a month ago it's become very bothersome and painful to where I don't have any mobility walking, standing and even laying down with rest and adopting heat, ice and of course rest. The last 4-5 days when I haven't had any heat on my knee, it's been very warm to the touch. Any help and advice is appreciated.
