Ovairan Cyst

Hello, I am hoping someone can help me. I was told many months ago that I had an ovarian cyst. Within the last week, I am having all the same symptoms as before, however two nights ago I do believe this cyst ruptured, I screamed out in when I had this sudden sharp (severe) pain then felt weak, had my husband not been holding me I would have fallen to the floor. However, the pain in my abdomen is still present (worse when I move around) if the cyst ruptured why am I still in pain?

Thank you

I did end going to the hospital Thursday night, after my stomach bloated to the point of looking 5 months pregnant. I was told by the ER doctor after an Xray was performed, that I was compacted with feces. He stated that was the reason for my pain and bloated belly, if there was an ovarian cyst there, it was not seen on the Xray and the issue at hand was more important then an ovarian cyst.  All my blood work came back normal.
The good thing that came out of this, I stopped drinking So much diet pop cold turkey and started eating more vegetables and drinking only water.
Thanks to everyone for all your comments, they were helpful and knowing my history, I know what to look for in the future if another cyst develops.

I have had a couple cysts. The most painfull one was about the same as what you are describing... I was in middle school at the time and would fall to my knees in the hall because it felt like a knife was being stuck in me. I went to the doctor they did an ultrasound and said that it was soo painful because of the size and that if we didnt get it desolved that they would have to remove it.. They put me on birth control and another anti inflammatory and it really helped within no time it was better.. If you think it burst you should go to the doctor im sure the bacteria is not healthy.

just because it bursts doesnt mean its over. u could have the left overs hanging around in there, the liguid that once filled it could be bothering something else, or the fact that it ruptured could be a sign of something else more severe. It may not have even been the cyst at all. You really need to get to your docotr.

When I had my ovarian cyst, I experienced that pain as well.
The cyst may not have ruptured, and could just be getting larger.
If you had been told by a doctor that you had this, I am surprised they haven't tried to get rid of it or remove it yet.
Ovarian cysts can be very dangerous. Though they are normal to get during our period, they can cause many issues if they stay.  My mother's twisted and she had to have her ovary, along with other things, removed from her body. She was then told she could not have kids, but she later had me. And mine was growing large quite quickly, but my doctor was able to get rid of it with birth control.
So I would head in to see your doctor and have them confirm that you do have one. And then they can prescribe you the birth control or whatever they choose to try and decress it and get rid of it.  They can also prescribe vicodin to relieve your pain.
So make an appointment because it's nothing to wait around about.
Good luck and Best wishes! :)
