PLEASE HELP???

hi there, im 27 years old from australia, i have been diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia which i have had for approx the last 6 months, with no improvement. my HB is 10.9 (11.5-16.5),  Ferritin 5ug/L (15-165), Iron 4 (7-27), Transferrin saturation 4% (13-47)
My question is that i understand with iron defiecency anemia, that you can be very tired etc....however i am EXTREMELY tired and EXTREMELY short of breath all the time. it feels like i have no oxygen which makes my chest and lungs feel very heavy. i was started on 5 iron injections, which made no improvement after being retested, and am now back on iron tablets. can my low readings cause this much tiredness and shortness of breath, and what treatment paths would you recommend to get my levels back to normal, as my docotrs dont seem too concerned about this. thank you so much

I had to have 2 pints of blood transfused, then I had to rest and eat lots of red meat.  I also took Iron supplements in isotonic form. Go to marketaustrailia.com and look up a distributor in your area. Call them and see if they can help.

I was just diagnosed with iron deficiency and I will begin the intravenous treatments next week.  My labs are almost identical to the ones you posted.  I have the same symptoms of being extremely tired all the time.  I have not experienced the shortness of breath, but I think that it may be because of the lack of oxygen flowing through your body.  Have you had your thyroid checked?  You might also suffer from hypothyroidism which has some of the same symptoms.
