Pain at base of head/neck when bending over

I have a severe pain on the left side of the back of the base of my head whenever I bend over.  What causes this?

Hi Rene, I don't want to sound sarcastic but I have suffered from chronic sinusitis for the past 10 years and have never had the back of my head/neck area hurt ever. However recently was injured in a fall and herniated 2 discs in my neck, NOW it hurst when I bend over or look down too far. Londres 70 was closer. Go to your doc and ask for an MRI of the cervical area of your neck. It is possible you have a protuding/bulging disc. Or you may have strained a ligament. Good luck.

Have you had any imaging of your head or cervical spine done, i.e. MRI?

Hi Rene,

You may want to look into 'Chronic Sinusitis' as this is a possible explanation. Especially the pain getting worse when you bend over could be an indication. More here:

Best of luck with this,

Steven
