Some concerns

Hello, my  name is Michael and I am 20 years old. I am 6'2" tall and weigh about 160 lbs.  I do not have very much fat on my body. I do not drink alcohol or do drugs.

I do however have some concerns with my health.

My ears hurt sometimes. They get a sharp pain like a ringing in my ear, but it hurts. Is this tennitus? the pain lasts only about 4 seconds on average.

My eyes sometimes squeak when I close them. They do not feel dry or hurt, but Im just wondering what this is? Are they just dry?

I live in California where it is Dry and Hot. I sometimes get nosebleeds in the summer, but only when I rub my nose too much. Does rubbing my nose too much cause my nose bleeds as the cells can burst during this?

I drink water when I remember to (probably 8-12 glasses or more on average, sometimes less), and some days I dont drink much water. I dont feel too dehydrated too often though.
I eat fairly healthy, with a balanced diet.

Why is my blood pressure high? Last time I had it checked it was around 144/77. I guess thats not too bad is it? My mother has low blood pressure and I guess it sort of runs in the family...But Im only 20, arent I too young for high blood pressure? Its always been high, but its been slowly rising. A couple of years ago it was around 125-130/70. Now that it is rising, im worried. My heart rate is really low. Well not too low, its around 55. A couple years ago it was around that too. Is it because of physical fitness?

does an irregular sleep pattern have an effect on blood pressure and other health? my sleep isnt too irregular, but I usually wake up from around 9-12 and I sleep around 12-2 a.m. Is that too much of a gap? Should I try to narrow it down and sleep at the same time every night? Maybe this could also attribute to my sometimes fatigueness? But when I go out and do stuff with others Im a lot happier. Im not totally anti-social, I just dont have many people to hang out with, so that could have an effect on it all too.

My neck and back usually hurt. I crack them, though I think I probably shouldnt. The cracking helps it feel a little better in that moment. How can I reduce neck and back pain to nothing?

I should also note that I run cross country, I try to run everyday for training, but sometimes I miss days. some days I dont do much, and others Im very active. Usually I dont do much though.

Last physical I had, my life wasnt in danger, so that is comforting. But I still am a little on the edge.
Could anyone please explain any of these woes to me?
thank you so much

I just thought of something else that might help your nose when you rub it. Since it is no doubt due to dryness, try putting just a dab of triple antibiotic cream in each nostril, and then, hold the two sides of the nose together so you can cause an even dispersal of the cream, this will help keep the lining of the nose moist, and should help with the bleeding, also, use a humidifier at night as this will put moisture in the air and this, too, will help to keep the lining from being so dry.

Hello~I will try to help you with your questions, my answers will be under each question.

My ears hurt sometimes. They get a sharp pain like a ringing in my ear, but it hurts. Is this tinnitus? the pain lasts only about 4 seconds on average.
Tinnitus usually goes on more or less all the time, the sharp pain is probably nothing more than just a nerve ending, and we all have that. It is nothing to worry about, if it gets worse or last longer, than I would either see an ear specialist or a chiropractor, if your neck is out of alignment, you can sometimes get pains in the ears.

My eyes sometimes squeak when I close them. They do not feel dry or hurt, but I'm just wondering what this is? Are they just dry?
Probably just a little mucous in them, they could be dry, you can have "dry eye" and yet not feel like your eyes are dry. there is a product on the market for dry eyes and you can put it in your eyes daily, it makes them feel really fresh. It is calle "Colllyrium" and you can get it from any drug store or grocery.

I live in a hot dry climate too, so, I can relate to the dryness. The reason your nose bleeds when you rub it too much is you are probably breaking tiny capillaries in that area, it is not serious, and to help this, just take some Vitamin "C" and also some bio-flavonoids, these are both great for keeping the arteries, veins and capillaries strong, plus good for a host of other things as well.

I drink water when I remember to (probably 8-12 glasses or more on average, sometimes less), and some days I don't drink much water. I don't feel too dehydrated too often though.
That is great that you drink that much water daily, I wish everyone did, I try to, but sometimes forget. :-) It does not hurt if you don't do it everyday, you will not dehydrate, but, it is good to do it as much as you can, especially in your hot, dry climate, things dry out so fast.

I eat fairly healthy, with a balanced diet.
That is good, this will help keep you well in all areas, keep up the great work. :-)

Your low heart rate is fine seeing that you are physically fit, that is common in lots of athletes, it is sure better than a racing heart. As to the blood pressure, I would like to see it under 120/70. Yours would be considered "Borderline high" Were you nervous when it was checked? Emotions can really play a big part in the readings. If you take it and are apprehensive each time, this could be one reason for the higher readings. I would say exercise to lower it, but, it sounds like you are doing a lot of that already. Actually, blood pressure can be high in any age, it is just not as common in folks your age. There are supplements  and herbs on the market that help some and others, they don't. You could try a good, garlic capsule daily, a good multi-vitamin and multi-mineral wouldn't hurt either. Just keep tabs on it, and when it is taken, try to relax and not worry, I know this is easier said than done. If it gets too high, I would suggest you talk to your physician, he/she may be able to help you and ease your fears.

It is always best to go to bed at the same time every night if it is possible. Yes, this certainly could contribute to your fatigue and possibly blood pressure, some folks, when they are tired, have higher readings. If you have trouble sleeping, take 5HTP, this is a form of trytophane, and it great for relaxing, take one right before bedtime, also, take your multi-mineral then as the magnesium will help to relax you as well.
The reason you are happier when out with folks is because your mind is active and you are doing what you enjoy, that proves there is nothing seriously wrong with you.

My neck and back usually hurt. I crack them, though I think I probably shouldn't. The cracking helps it feel a little better in that moment. How can I reduce neck and back pain to nothing?
For this, I definitely say to see a chiropractor, this is their specialty, and he will help to reduce that pain to nothing. Also, he might just be able to help with your sleep problems and blood pressure, when I need a good treatment, my blood pressure will go higher, and afterwords, it comes down, most folks also sleep better. It is sure worth a try. No, cracking your neck yourself, is NOT a good idea.

I hope I have been able to help you some and alleviate some of your concerns. Feel free to post or PM me with any other worries you may have.
