how to heal a blown vein

my daughter donates plasma on a regular basis, she is usually hard to find a vein on and yesterday she was in the middle of donating and noticed her arm started getting hot and burning, she called the attendant who looked at her arm and immediately  removed the needle, her vein had blown.
her arm is swollen, has a hard knot and is very painful. Her arm is also bruised.
Is there anything she can do to ease the pain and to help it heal.

Hi,

How is her arm now? Caregiver is right, cold water should help, if it is not better by now, see her physician.

Just cold water on the arm. It should resolve.
