b6 and magnesium can help with headaches according to my dr. Make sure you are taking a multi vitamin daily in case you have a deficiency since many don't healthy enough. Make sure you have your eyes checked because sometimes it is a sign of a need for glasses hence that is how I ended up with glasses. I thought my eye sight was fine but I was straining and didn't know it but go to a real eye doctor, not a optometrist bec a real eye dr can tell a lot by examing your eyes and looking inside and they both are about the same price.
Hi. I've had these "ice pick" migraine headaches before. The first one made me look behind me! I felt like someone had actually hit me on the back of the head!!!
I find that taking supplements helps to lessen the effects and the reoccurance of migraines. CoQ10, Calcium and B complex taken together regularly will prevent migraines. Don't know why it works - but I don't get migraines as often as I used to. When I do get a headache, I realize that I've forgotten to take my supplements for a couple of days.
Migraines are caused by the arteries in the brain/head opening up and too much blood flow. (Tension, upset or high blood pressure, crying or worry). Caffeine sometimes will help to shrink the arteries and make the headache go away. Imitrex is what doctors prescibe - doesn't help me.
I hope the supplements help you as much as they do me.
Wishing you the best.
I get a sharp stabbing pain in one side of my head that is just due to tension according to my doctor. I also get migraines that are different that are on one side of my head that are not stabbing but hurt a lot. If it helps when you rub it it probably isn't migraine. The only other thing to rule out migraine or something else is to go see a neurologist. I don't think you have that due to it not being very painful. Also, you don't have nausea or dizziness. A migraine is on one side of the head and doesn't go from one side to the other. It is either on the right or left side it doesn't switch sides and neither would a tumor. Try to relax your head (don't tense it up) and I bet it will go away. Also, relaxation like meditation and breathing exercises or biofeedback can help. If you get too worried perhaps see a neurologist. But I don't think it is serious.
