Have you seen a chiropractor, sometimes they can do an adjustment on the knee, this helps to relieve the pain some.

Knee pain is difficult to treat. Sometimes relief can be had by withdrawing
fluid from the compartment. In terms of alternative treatments, try MSM (methylsulfonylmethane), available at health food stores. Do a youtube search in making a ginger poultice, which seems to help some people. Think about using a DSMO cream, but be cautious, insuring the skin is absolutely squeaky clean and you do not put on pants. Wrap a dressing pover the cream. The dye in the pant will end up on the skin.
