Unusual Tingling Around the Liver Area

For about a month now, I've had this tingling feeling under the right side of my rib cage — around where my liver is. When I try to look it up, the only “tingling” that comes up relates to hands and feet. I have no sensations there. I have no jaundice anywhere that I can tell. I don't drink alcohol and I don't smoke. I'm a little overweight (5′8″, 170). I have type 2 diabetes but it's pretty much under control. I take Prozac for anxiety and depression but have taken it for a few years and I feel fine.

Sometimes there's a slight feeling of pressure with the tingling and sometimes I can feel the sensation in the same area as though it's going through to my back in the same location.

Has anyone ever heard of anything like this? If it gets terrible, I'll get checked out. But for now, it just seems to be an annoyance.

Thanks in advance!

Hello~It could be a pinched nerve in your spine, one that leads to the liver area. If this is the case, then seeing a chiropractor would be beneficial. He/she will take some x-rays and discuss the results with you, after a few treatments you should start to feel better.

I wouldn't let it go on for too long, even if you don't see a chiropractor, you should probably see your GP, running some tests on your liver and other blood work might be a wise idea.
