Why is the ganglion cyst in my hand/wrist hard?

I have had a ganglion cyst in my right wrist for a few years now, I tried having it aspirated about 2 years ago, it is a hard cyst therefore it couldn't go through the needle. Why is this cyst hard? What treatment is there for a hard cyst?

Hi there!
If the aspiration didn't get rid of the ganglion then you need to have an outpatient procedure to have it removed. I would see an orthopedic surgeon for this. As far as I know ganglion are not harmful. I've had one for years but it's small and hasn't grown any. Good luck!!
