Women metabolize alcohol differntly than men, and it typically takes longer for the alcohol to process through the body, especially hard liquor.  There are a lot of factors to consider:  your BMI, was there any food in your system, were you dehydrated, etc...also, if you are taking any medications (especially any drugs that affect your mood or brain chemicals), it could greatly alter the way alcohol processes through your body.  Without having more facts, it's difficult to tell exactly why this happened to you, but hopefully this gives you some things to think about.  I am sorry about your circumstance, a DUI *****.

I am not too familiar with blood alcohol, but I would think that maybe you could have been dehydrated and that could have caused the reading. Try drinking more water next time.
