chest pain and a 8mm focal opacity in lower left node

I went into ER last week and a ct scan was preformed and they found a collection of small nodules forming a 8mm focal opacity in my right lower lobe, and was told to see my family doctor for a follow up x-ray and more blood test. My appointment is not for another week and i am developing worsening pain in my left upper chest any ideas of what this could be or what i should do for now?

have somewhat of an update,,I beg spitting up some bright red blood and looked bubbly. I went into ER and had some testing done...then was set-up with the pulmonary specialist. The day of my appointment, I did some breathing tests and another chest x-ray. The specialist did not say yes or no to the possibility of cancer, he said there were 2 more nodules visible on the x-ray as well as the nodules that were causing the concern in the first place seem to have grown. the other concern was that the lymph nodes in the lung were swollen/enlarged. The doc said he did not want to speculate as there were different possibilities and he did not want to scare me. He then booked a new ct scan and a broncoscope for a week from now as he said that was the soonest he could get me in. by not telling me anything he has really gotten me worried to the point where i am turning in circles all day. i was tested for tb and for HIV and both those tests were negative...can anyone give me some insight as to what i could be looking at?

Since you are experiencing pain, I would ask to see the doctor as soon as possible, chest pain is nothing to fool around with.

Call your family dr and see if you can get in sooner!  Explain to the nurse what you are experiencing and they might be able to get you in!
